Extract PDF Pages by Text

Keep only the pages of a PDF that contain a word or phrase — pull every invoice page, clause or report section mentioning your term into one file.

About this tool

Long PDFs are usually searched for one recurring thing: every page that says "Invoice", every clause numbered 4.2, every report section naming a product. This tool keeps just the pages whose embedded text contains your word or phrase and returns them, in order, as one file.

Matching is literal and per page — the phrase must appear on a single page — and it reads the text layer only. Scanned pages have no text layer and cannot match, which the page states instead of silently returning an empty file.

How to use Extract PDF Pages by Text

  1. Choose up to 20 PDF files (20 MB each).
  2. Type the text a page must contain; matching ignores case unless you tick the case box.
  3. Download — the result card lists the page numbers that matched.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the text read from?

The embedded text layer, page by page. Scanned pages have no text layer and can never match — this tool does not perform OCR.

Can I search for a phrase?

Yes, any text up to 200 characters, including spaces. The whole phrase must appear on one page.

What happens to non-matching pages?

They are left out of the output file. The original is untouched.

Are encrypted PDFs supported?

No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are rejected. Export an unlocked copy first.
