PDF to Word

Extract text from PDFs into an editable Word (.docx) file. Runs entirely in your browser.

About this tool

People regularly need to edit a document that only exists as a PDF. This tool extracts the embedded text from each page, in reading order, and rebuilds it as an editable Word .docx file made of plain paragraphs — a starting point for editing, quoting or repurposing the content.

It is not a replica of the original: columns, tables, images, headers, footers and styling do not come across, so review important documents against the PDF. Scanned PDFs yield nothing, because their pages are pictures without an embedded text layer and this tool performs no OCR. Extraction covers up to 2 million characters per batch, locally in your browser.

How to use PDF to Word

  1. Choose up to 20 PDF files (20 MB each).
  2. Run the extraction — text is rebuilt into plain editable paragraphs.
  3. Preview the text and download each .docx file.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.
