Fix PDF Page Boxes

Repair inconsistent page boxes: make the visible crop area the real page, or reset crops back to the full media box, and drop stray trim/bleed/art boxes.

About this tool

Every PDF page carries up to five size rectangles, and when they disagree, screen readers, printers and prepress tools disagree about the page. This tool unifies them: either bake the visible crop area into the page box, or reset the crop to the full media box, dropping trim, bleed and art boxes either way.

It is a geometry repair for people whose files measure differently in different tools — and it is explicit that box changes define visibility, never delete content.

How to use Fix PDF Page Boxes

  1. Choose up to 20 PDF files (20 MB each).
  2. Pick the fix: bake the crop into the page box, or reset the crop to the full page.
  3. Download and verify the page geometry in your reader or prepress tool.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

What are page boxes?

Every PDF page carries rectangles — MediaBox (the page), CropBox (the visible area), TrimBox, BleedBox, ArtBox. When exports disagree about them, readers, printers and imposition tools disagree about the page size and content position.

Does fixing boxes delete content?

No. Like cropping, box changes define what is visible and what the page is — content outside the box still exists in the file. Never use box fixes to hide sensitive content.

Which fix do I need?

"Bake crop" when a reader shows the right area but prepress sees the wrong page size. "Reset crop" when a previous crop cut content you want back into view.

Are encrypted PDFs supported?

No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are rejected. Export an unlocked copy first.
