PDF Booklet Maker

Turn a PDF into a printable booklet: pages are imposed two-up on landscape sheets in folding order, ready to print double-sided and fold into a booklet.

About this tool

A booklet is an ordering problem, not a resizing one: the last page sits beside the first on the outside sheet, and the rest follow in folding order. This tool imposes your pages two-up on landscape sheets in that order, padding the count to a multiple of four with blanks at the end.

Print the result double-sided with short-edge flipping, fold the stack once, and the pages read cover to cover. Each sheet is exactly two source pages wide, so half-Letter pages land on Letter sheets and A5 pages on A4.

How to use PDF Booklet Maker

  1. Choose up to 20 PDF files (20 MB each).
  2. Run — pages are padded to a multiple of four and imposed in booklet order.
  3. Print double-sided (flip on short edge), fold the stack in half, and the pages read in order.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my page count rounded up?

A folded booklet needs a multiple of four pages. Blank pages are added at the end when the count is 1, 2 or 3 pages short.

Which print setting matters?

Double-sided with "flip on short edge" (also called short-edge binding). With long-edge flipping the backs come out upside down.

What sheet size comes out?

Each sheet is exactly two source pages wide and one tall, so A5 pages impose onto A4 landscape sheets and Letter-half pages onto Letter landscape.

Are encrypted PDFs supported?

No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are rejected. Export an unlocked copy first.
