Inspect PDF Form

See exactly what a PDF form contains: every fillable field with its name, type, current value and choices — the map you need before filling, automating or debugging a form.

About this tool

Before a form can be filled by a script, a mail merge or even a careful human, someone has to know its real field names — which rarely match the printed labels. This read-only tool lists every fillable field with its name, type, current value and available choices.

It is the companion to Fill PDF Form: inspect first, then fill with confidence. Nothing in the document is modified.

How to use Inspect PDF Form

  1. Choose up to 20 PDF files (20 MB each).
  2. Run — the fields are read and written up as a report.
  3. Read the report in the preview or download it as a .txt file.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

Why inspect a form?

Automation, mail-merge and support all start with the real field names — which are often nothing like the labels printed on the page. This report gives the names exactly as tools must use them.

Does it change the PDF?

No. Inspection is read-only; the report is the only output.

My form shows no fields — why?

Scanned or printed-to-PDF forms are flat pictures of forms; they contain no fillable fields. The report says so plainly.

Are encrypted PDFs supported?

No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are rejected. Export an unlocked copy first.
