LOCAL FILES. CLEAR RESULTS.

Localcraft Agent

Give the agent a goal and your files: it plans the job, you approve the plan, then it chains Localcraft tools (PDF, data, subtitles, dev utilities) step by step in your browser with your own API key. Files never leave your device.

About this tool

The Localcraft Agent turns the tools on this site into a crew that works for you. Instead of opening five tools one after another, you describe the finished outcome — "read these PDFs and give me a briefing report" — and the agent drafts a plan, waits for your approval, then carries it out step by step: extracting PDF text, summarising each document, and assembling a Word report you can download.

It runs on the same privacy architecture as every Localcraft tool. Your files stay in this browser tab and are never uploaded; the agent works through your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini API key (BYOK), and every request it sends is listed in an outbound log with its size, so you can audit exactly what left your device. Step and budget limits are hard caps, and each finished step is checkpointed locally, so closing the tab mid-job does not lose the work.

How to use Localcraft Agent

  1. Open Settings at the top of the Agent page and save an OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini API key — it is stored only in this browser.
  2. Add files (PDFs work best), describe the goal, and review the plan the agent proposes. Nothing runs before you confirm.
  3. Watch each step and the outbound log, then download the finished artifacts. Progress is checkpointed locally, so a refresh does not lose the run.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the AI chat tool?

Chat answers one message at a time. The Agent plans a whole job, then calls Localcraft tools itself — extracting PDF text, splitting or compressing PDFs, converting data, checking subtitles — and assembles a deliverable such as a DOCX briefing report.

Do my files get uploaded?

No. Files stay in this browser tab. The only thing sent to your AI provider is text (your goal, tool results and excerpts), and every request is listed in the outbound log with its size before you download anything.

What does it cost?

You pay your provider’s normal API rates for the tokens used. Set a budget cap and the agent stops when it is reached. Localcraft charges nothing.

Is my progress saved?

Each completed step is checkpointed in this browser (IndexedDB). If the tab is closed or refreshed, reopen this page and choose Resume.

Which providers are supported?

OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude) and Google Gemini for agent mode. Their function-calling formats differ, but the plan, confirmation, step cap, budget cap and outbound log work the same way.
