WebP converter

Convert WebP, JPG and PNG images between formats locally. Choose output format and quality, preview and download.

About this tool

WebP images are everywhere on the modern web, but they still trip up older software, some social platforms and a few print workflows. This converter moves images between WebP, JPG and PNG in any direction, in batches of up to 20, using your browser’s own canvas engine — no upload, no server.

Transparency survives when the target format supports it: WebP and PNG keep it, while JPG fills transparent areas with black. Animated WebP files are converted from their first frame only, and the quality setting applies to JPG and WebP output; PNG is lossless. If a very old browser cannot encode WebP, the page will tell you rather than produce a broken file.

How to use WebP converter

  1. Choose one or more WebP, JPG or PNG images.
  2. Select the output format and quality level (JPG and WebP only).
  3. Run the conversion, preview each result and download individually or as a ZIP.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

Which conversions are supported?

WebP, JPG and PNG in any direction. Animated WebP files convert using their first frame only.

Does quality affect PNG?

No. PNG is lossless, so the quality setting only applies to JPG and WebP output.

Will transparency survive?

Yes when the target format supports it: WebP and PNG keep transparency, JPG does not and transparent areas become black. Prefer PNG or WebP for images with alpha.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything is decoded and re-encoded with the canvas API in this tab.

My browser cannot encode WebP.

Use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Older browsers may lack a WebP encoder.

What are the limits?

Up to 20 files per batch, 20 MB each, 80 MB total, and 24 megapixels per image.
