Screen recorder
Record your screen, a window or a browser tab — with optional microphone — and download the recording. Nothing is uploaded.
About this tool
A screen recording is often the fastest way to show a bug, walk through a workflow or explain a result — and the usual tools want an install or an upload. This recorder uses the browser’s built-in capture: pick a screen, window or tab, optionally add your microphone, and the recording is assembled in the tab and downloaded directly.
The format is whatever your browser produces natively — MP4 in recent Chrome, Edge and Safari, WebM in Firefox and older Chrome — and the page labels the download with the real format and size. Nothing leaves the device; closing the tab discards an unsaved recording.
How to use Screen recorder
- Choose whether to include your microphone.
- Press Start recording and pick the screen, window or tab to capture.
- Press Stop, preview the recording and download it (WebM or MP4, whichever your browser produces).
Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the recording go?
Nowhere — it is assembled in this tab’s memory and downloads straight to your device. No server ever sees it.
Which format do I get?
Chrome and Edge record MP4 where supported and WebM otherwise; Firefox records WebM; recent Safari records MP4. The download button labels the actual format.
Is system audio included?
When you share a tab or screen, Chrome offers a “share audio” toggle in its picker — enable it to include the tab or system sound. The microphone option adds your voice on top.
How long can I record?
Until the tab runs low on memory — tens of minutes are typical on a desktop. For very long sessions, record in parts and merge them with the Merge video tool.
Why did nothing happen when I pressed Start?
The browser’s share picker was probably dismissed. Press Start again and choose a screen, window or tab, then Share.
