Remove image EXIF & GPS metadata
Create a fresh PNG or JPEG and verify the output contains no EXIF, GPS, XMP, ICC or comment metadata segments.
How to use this tool
- Choose an image and select PNG or JPEG output.
- Run to decode pixels and generate a fresh image.
- The tool removes ancillary PNG chunks or JPEG APP/comment segments, verifies those output bytes, then enables download.
Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it. Processing happens on this device; engine and library assets download when needed.
Frequently asked questions
What is actually verified?
PNG output is restricted to IHDR, PLTE, tRNS, IDAT and IEND chunks. JPEG output is checked for absence of all APP0–APP15 and COM segments, where EXIF/GPS/XMP/ICC/comments reside. The check concerns container metadata, not information visible in pixels.
Is removal lossless?
No. Files are decoded and re-encoded; JPEG recompression can change pixels, and color profiles are removed. PNG preserves decoded canvas pixels. Keep the original for archival work.
