HEIC to JPG

Convert iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos to JPG or PNG in your browser. Batch friendly, nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

iPhones save photos in HEIC format, which is efficient on the phone but still awkward elsewhere: older Windows PCs, many websites and some editors refuse to open it. This tool decodes HEIC and HEIF photos in your browser and re-exports them as JPG or PNG, one by one or as a ZIP, with a quality choice for JPG output.

Only the still frame is converted — the motion part of a Live Photo is not included — and EXIF details such as the capture location may not survive, which many people count as a benefit when sharing. Batches of up to 20 photos (20 MB each) are supported; encrypted, damaged or oversized files are rejected with a per-file explanation.

How to use HEIC to JPG

  1. Choose one or more .heic or .heif photos from your device.
  2. Pick JPG or PNG output and a quality level (JPG only).
  3. Run the conversion, preview each result and download individually or as a ZIP.

Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

Will the converted photo look the same?

Yes for practical purposes. JPG uses the selected quality preset; PNG is lossless but larger. Metadata such as EXIF may not be preserved.

Why are my photos HEIC?

Apple devices save photos as HEIC/HEIF by default because it stores the same quality in roughly half the file size of JPG.

What about Live Photos or bursts?

Only the still image frame is converted. Motion segments and video portions of Live Photos are not included.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Decoding and encoding happen in this browser tab with a downloaded decoder library. Your photos never leave the device.

A file failed. What now?

Encrypted, DRM-protected or damaged HEIC files are rejected, as are files over 20 MB. Export a fresh copy from the Photos app and try again.

What are the limits?

Up to 20 files per batch, 20 MB each, 80 MB total. Very large images may exceed browser memory on phones; process fewer at once.
