Returns reason analyzer
Turn free-text return notes into a SKU × reason matrix: every note classified against your fixed category list, low-confidence rows set aside for a human, and every count computed locally.
About this tool
A rising return rate is a symptom, not an explanation — the explanation sits in hundreds of free-text return notes nobody has time to read. This analyzer classifies every note against your fixed category list (size, quality, not as described, logistics, changed mind — editable to your store) and builds the SKU × reason matrix that shows where the problem actually concentrates.
The model only labels; it never counts. The matrix, per-SKU totals and shares are arithmetic over the whole file on your device, so the percentages are real. Notes the model is unsure about are counted but listed separately as low-confidence, ready for a human re-check instead of being silently trusted.
How to use Returns reason analyzer
- Add your provider API key in the key panel.
- Upload a returns CSV (SKU and return-note columns are detected) or paste return notes, one per line.
- Edit the reason categories if the presets do not fit your store.
- Every note is classified against your fixed category list; counts and the SKU matrix are computed locally.
- Export the classified rows and check the low-confidence list by hand.
Keep the original files and inspect the exported result before publishing or sharing it.
Frequently asked questions
Are the percentages real?
Yes. The model only labels each note with one of your categories; the matrix, the per-SKU totals and the shares are arithmetic done on your device over the whole file.
What happens to notes the model is unsure about?
They are still counted, but listed separately as low-confidence so a human can re-check them instead of trusting a guess.
Can I use my own categories?
Yes — edit the category list (one per line) before running. Classifications outside your list are rejected locally and counted as unclassified.
Where do my return notes go?
Note text is sent in chunks only to the AI provider behind your own key, directly from your browser.
