Frequently asked questions
Does HEIC always work?
HEIC decoding loads a local decoder on demand. Some HEIF profiles, sequences and large images are unsupported; failures are shown per file. Only one still image is exported.
Does converting preserve quality?
JPEG is lossy and removes transparency. PNG stores the decoded pixels losslessly but cannot recover detail already lost in the source. Color profiles and metadata are removed.
