Terms of Use

The terms that govern Localcraft: a free, browser-based tool collection that processes your files on your own device.

Last updated 30 October 2026. By using Localcraft ("the Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What the Service is

Localcraft is a collection of free tools that run in your web browser on this website. Unless a page states otherwise, the tools are provided free of charge for personal and commercial use, without an account.

Local processing

File processing happens on your own device, in your browser. The Service does not receive, store or back up the files you process, and it cannot recover them for you. You are responsible for keeping your original files and for checking every output before you rely on it, publish it or send it to anyone else. The AI tools are the one exception to local-only processing, described under "AI tools" below.

Your content and responsibilities

You may only process files that you own or have the right to modify. You are solely responsible for the content you process and for complying with applicable laws, including copyright and privacy law. Do not use the Service to infringe anyone's rights, to process material it is unlawful for you to possess, or to attempt to disrupt the Service or its hosting.

Availability and changes

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue any tool or page at any time, and we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, available on every device or browser, or that any output will meet a particular size, quality or third-party requirement (such as a marketplace's or broadcaster's acceptance rules). Tool pages state their own limits; those statements are part of these terms for the tool concerned.

Intellectual property

The site's design, text, guides and code are the property of the Service's operator or its licensors, except for the open-source components the tools are built on, which remain under their own licences (the video tools, for example, use FFmpeg via FFmpeg.wasm under the LGPL). Processing a file with the Service gives us no rights in your file or its output: your content remains entirely yours.

AI tools and your API key (BYOK)

The AI assistants on this site are bring-your-own-key tools. When you use one, the text, image or extracted document content you submit is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected (OpenAI, Anthropic or Google), under that provider's own terms and privacy policy, and any usage charges are billed by that provider to your account at its own rates. Localcraft is not a party to that exchange, never receives your key (which is stored only in your browser's local storage, under the key "localcraft_ai_keys", and can be removed at any time from the key panel or by clearing site data), and adds no markup. You are responsible for your use of your provider account and for reviewing outputs before relying on them.

Advertising and third-party services

The site may display advertising served by third parties such as Google AdSense, subject to those providers' own terms; how advertising data is handled is described on the privacy page. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits or goodwill, arising from the use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version will always be on this page with its update date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
