Word Document to PDF
Convert a Word document (DOCX) into a PDF that looks the same on every screen and printer. Choose A4 or Letter, convert in your browser, and download a file that is ready to send.
Send the document, freeze the layout
A Word document is a living thing: it reflows with different fonts, versions and screen sizes. That is wonderful while you are writing and terrible when you press send — the carefully aligned table on your screen can sprawl on the recipient's. Converting the Word document to PDF freezes it into a fixed, printable, uneditable-by-accident artefact. The Word to PDF converter above does that conversion in your browser: DOCX in, PDF out, no detour through a server.
When the PDF is the deliverable
Invoices, signed agreements, applications, reports for clients — anywhere the receiving side should see exactly what you approved, PDF is the etiquette. It also shrinks the "which version is final?" problem: the PDF is the final, and the DOCX stays your editable master. If the flow ever runs the other way, the PDF to Word converter recovers an editable document from a PDF.
Two checks before you send
First, page size: pick A4 or Letter to match how the document was authored, or margins and tables will shift. Second, open the downloaded PDF once and scroll it — fonts that your machine lacks are substituted, and one glance catches it. The sibling page DOCX to PDF covers the same conversion from the file-format angle.
Private by design
Finished documents are often confidential. Here the conversion happens on your device, so the file you are about to send is the only copy that exists.
Frequently asked questions
Why convert a Word document to PDF at all?
PDF freezes the layout: fonts, spacing and page breaks look identical on every device and printer, and recipients cannot accidentally edit your text. It is the standard format for sending finished documents.
Does it accept .doc files?
The converter works with DOCX, the format Word has used since 2007. Older .doc files should first be opened in Word or Google Docs and saved as DOCX.
Will the PDF look exactly like my document?
Text, paragraphs, lists and basic tables render faithfully. Highly designed documents — text boxes, SmartArt, unusual fonts — are best-effort and may shift slightly, so always glance at the output before sending.
Which page size should I choose?
Match the document's origin: A4 for most of the world, Letter for US documents. Choosing the wrong size reflows the content and can push tables onto extra pages.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The conversion runs locally in your browser. Your document is never sent to a server.
