Trim Video Online

Cut a segment from any video right in your browser. Fast stream-copy trimming with automatic re-encode fallback — nothing uploaded.

Trimming without an editor

Most trims are simple: cut the awkward silence at the start, lift a highlight out of a longer recording, or shorten a clip to fit a platform limit. Installing a video editor for that is overkill, and uploading personal footage to a random website is unwise. This trimmer cuts segments with FFmpeg running locally in your browser — the same engine professionals use, with no install and no upload.

Fast mode first, precise fallback

This page mounts the Trim video tool, which tries the fast path first: stream copy (-c copy) slices the segment without re-encoding, so it is quick and quality is untouched. The trade-off is that cuts land on the nearest keyframe and can shift by a fraction of a second. If stream copy fails for your file, the tool automatically falls back to re-encoding the segment (H.264 ultrafast, CRF 23, AAC audio) for a precise cut at a small quality cost.

How to specify the cut

Practical notes

Private by design

Your footage never leaves the device. The FFmpeg engine downloads once (about 32 MB); the video itself is processed in browser memory and offered back as a download.

Frequently asked questions

How do I trim the beginning off a video?

Enter 0 as the start and the length you want to keep as the duration — for example, start 0 and duration 30 keeps the first 30 seconds. To remove an intro instead, set the start where you want the clip to begin.

Is trimming frame-accurate?

The fast path copies streams without re-encoding, so the cut lands on the nearest keyframe and can shift slightly. If the fast path fails, the tool automatically re-encodes the segment for a precise cut.

Does trimming reduce video quality?

Fast mode never re-encodes, so quality is pixel-identical. The re-encode fallback uses H.264 (ultrafast, CRF 23) with AAC audio, which can slightly soften the image.

Which formats are supported?

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and M4V containers. Output is always MP4 (H.264 + AAC) for maximum compatibility.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. FFmpeg runs on your device; only the engine assets (about 32 MB) download on first use. Your video stays in browser memory.

What are the limits?

Up to 4 files per batch, 150 MiB each, 250 MiB total. Duration is capped at 3600 seconds and a 3-minute processing guard stops runaway jobs.
