Cut Video Online

Cut clips out of MP4, MOV, WebM and more — free, in your browser, no upload and no watermark.

Cut, trim, split — same job

Search engines treat “cut video”, “trim video” and “video trimmer” as different queries, but they describe the same task: keep a segment, drop the rest. Whether you call it cutting or trimming, this page mounts the Trim video tool, which extracts the segment you specify with FFmpeg running locally in your browser.

Two cutting modes, automatic

The tool first attempts a stream copy: the segment is sliced without re-encoding, which is fast and lossless. Because no re-encoding happens, the cut starts at the nearest keyframe and may shift slightly. If stream copy cannot handle your file, the tool automatically re-encodes just the segment (H.264 ultrafast preset, CRF 23, AAC audio) for a frame-precise cut. You do not choose between the modes — the tool picks the one that works.

Limits and failures

Cutting for social clips

Short-form video rewards tight cuts: extract the 15–30 seconds that matter and drop the buildup. Because the fast path does not re-encode, you can cut a dozen variants from one recording in seconds and pick the best — each cut costs only the time to specify start and duration.

Private by design

Nothing is uploaded. Your video is processed in browser memory and returned as a download; close the tab and it is gone.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between cutting and trimming?

Nothing, in practice — “cut”, “trim” and “split” all mean extracting a segment from a video. This tool handles all of them; see also Trim Video Online.

Will cutting affect quality?

The fast stream-copy path re-encodes nothing, so quality is identical. Only the automatic re-encode fallback (used when stream copy fails) can slightly reduce quality.

Can I cut multiple segments from one video?

Run the tool once per segment — each run extracts one continuous clip. Up to 4 files can be processed per batch.

Which formats can I cut?

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and M4V inputs; the output is always a widely compatible MP4.

Is there a watermark or time limit on the free cut?

No watermark, no account, no clip-count limits. Processing caps are technical: 150 MiB per file, 250 MiB per batch, 3600 seconds duration.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. FFmpeg runs locally in your browser; only the ~32 MB engine downloads on first use.
