CSV to JSON Converter

Convert CSV rows into a JSON array of objects in your browser. Paste text or drop a file, inspect the result and download it — your data is never uploaded.

From spreadsheet rows to a JSON array

CSV is where data starts — exports from Excel, databases, shop platforms and CRMs — and JSON is where applications want it. The data converter above bridges the two: your header row becomes object keys and every data row becomes one object in a JSON array, ready for an API payload, a config file or a quick script. Paste text directly or drop a file of up to 5 MB, with room for 20,000 rows and 200,000 cells.

The one rule to remember: everything is a string

CSV carries no type information, so a cell that reads 31 converts to the string "31", not the number 31, and dates stay text as well. That is the honest behaviour — the converter will not guess which columns you meant to be numeric. If your JSON consumer is strict, cast the fields after conversion. Going the other way is just as direct with JSON to CSV, and the same tool handles YAML to JSON and Excel to CSV.

Internal data stays internal

Because the conversion runs in your browser, you can convert exports that contain emails, orders or internal notes without handing them to an unknown server.

Frequently asked questions

How does the converter map CSV to JSON?

The first row of the CSV becomes the keys, and each following row becomes one object in a JSON array. A CSV with name and age columns produces objects like {"name": "Ana", "age": "31"} for every row.

Why are my numbers strings in the JSON?

CSV is plain text, so every cell converts as a string — numbers and dates included. If your application needs real numbers, convert the fields after importing, or keep the values quoted consistently in the source.

What are the size limits?

Files up to 5 MB are accepted, with limits of 20,000 rows and 200,000 cells per conversion. Larger datasets are better handled with a script on your own machine.

Does the converter handle quoted commas and line breaks?

Yes, standard CSV quoting is understood: fields wrapped in double quotes can contain commas, quotes and line breaks without breaking the row structure.

Is my data uploaded for conversion?

No. The file is read and converted locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which makes the tool safe for internal exports and customer lists.
