QR Code Generator (SVG)
Generate QR codes and download them as SVG vector files — infinitely scalable for print, signage and packaging, with no fuzzy edges. PNG is available too when you need a raster image.
The print-proof QR format
A QR code printed from a small PNG fails in a specific, embarrassing way: it looks fine on screen and turns to mush on the poster. SVG removes that failure mode. The QR code generator above can hand you the code as a vector file, where every module is a crisp rectangle at any output size — the same file serves a 2 cm table sticker and a 2 m banner.
Working with the SVG
Drop the SVG into Illustrator, Figma or Inkscape to place it in your artwork. You may scale it freely and adjust colours, with two rules: preserve the quiet-zone margin, and keep the contrast brutal — black on white is the benchmark every scanner is tuned for. If a brand colour must be used, go dark-on-light and proof-scan the printed result. High error correction (Q or H) buys tolerance for centre logos and scuffed print.
SVG master, PNG copies
A practical setup: keep the SVG as the master file, and export PNGs from it (or from this generator, as on the URL to QR code page) for slides, documents and social posts where vector support is patchy. That way every copy in circulation traces back to one crisp original.
Private by design
Generation happens in your browser. The code contains only what you entered, and no copy is kept anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose SVG over PNG?
SVG is a vector format: the code is stored as shapes, not pixels, so it prints crisply at any size — business card or billboard. PNG at a fixed resolution goes soft when enlarged beyond its pixel size.
Can I recolour an SVG QR code?
Yes, in any vector editor — but keep strong contrast: dark modules on a light background. Inverted or low-contrast codes fail on many scanners, so test after any restyle.
Does SVG work in Word and Canva?
Most design tools (Illustrator, Figma, Inkscape) edit SVG natively. Some office tools prefer PNG; if in doubt, export a large PNG from the same generator for documents and keep the SVG as your master.
What error-correction level should I pick?
M (15%) suits clean digital use. Q (25%) or H (30%) tolerate damage, dirt or a centred logo while remaining scannable — the right choice for print in the wild.
Are the codes generated privately?
Yes. Codes are drawn in your browser from exactly what you typed — nothing is uploaded, tracked or watermarked.
